East Tennessee Technology Access Center (ETTAC)

The East Tennessee Technology Access Center is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping people with disabilities reach their potential for learning, working, speaking and living through the use of assistive technology (anything that helps the functional capabilities of people with disabilities). ETTAC is a designated Microsoft Accessibility Resource Center. At no cost, local businesses and individuals can visit ETTAC, experiment with Windows Vista, Office 2007, Internet Explorer 7, the Comfort Mouse and Comfort Keyboard. Free CD's are also available with Windows Vista demos and tutorials, and Windows Vista accessibility tutorials and demonstrations. Organizations such as senior centers, libraries, retirement communities or other organizations with computer labs may request a free training on the accessibility options built into Windows operating system.

Over the years, the use of assistive technology has proven effective in enabling people with disabilities to set and reach goals which otherwise may not have been possible. ETTAC is truly a place where disabilities become possibilities.

Announcing New Hours

Announcing New Hours

Effective July 1st, the East Tennessee Technology Access Center’s Knoxville office will be open Tuesdays through Fridays from 8:00 am to 6:30 pm. A four day work week will allow ETTAC staff to use tax-payer and donors’ dollars more wisely while continuing to meet the needs of people with disabilities and their families in East Tennessee. A longer day will mean that staff can serve clients who cannot come during the present 8:30 am to 5:00 pm working hours, and it will also allow people wishing to recycle their computers and other equipment with ETTAC to drop them off on their way to or from work. Call (865) 219-0130 for more information about programs ETTAC provides for people with disabilities.
