You (might) know their name, so look up their [number][]. And then call. If you’ve never called an [elected offical][] before, don’t be scared. These representatives hire people to be [courteous][] when they answer the phone (what a job!). Feel free to speak your mind about a [current issue][] in America or [legislation][] in committee or anything else that gets under your skin. If you still don’t want to call, those who usually rub elbows with D.C. types have said that 95% of all hand-written letters reach the congressperson’s desk. Not bad for some [writer's cramp][] and a stamp.
