Smart lighting saves money and the environment. But, you don’t have to upgrade to a super-duper system just yet. By being smart about where you’re pointing your lights, you’ll be energy efficient in no time. So, instead of turning on the overheads lights when you read on the couch tonight, strategically place a floor or table lamp to illuminate your book. This will keep fewer bulbs burning as you maximize the lights that you turn on. Do the same for other lighting needs as well, like when you read at night, sit for family dinner, and visit with guests.
