Today, cards and balloons will proclaim three simple and meaningful words (no, not “Cool people care.”) Saying I love you to someone else is one of the great privileges of being human and one of the great honors of relating to another person. As much as today might have been crafted by marketers and manufacturers, it is still a perfect opportunity to tell someone else that you love them. We clearly don’t need the blessing of chocolate companies, but telling another person that you love, appreciate and adore them will provide a closeness that no stuffed platypus can create.
