Weekend Project: Make Your Own
If you’re looking to save money and the planet, then block off some time this weekend to make something on your own.
It’s easy (and super convenient) to head to the store to get detergent, shampoo, or a latte. But did you know you can make all of these things yourself at home?
Doing so will save you some major cash. And, in many cases, the homemade versions work (or taste) just as well and aren’t as harsh on Mother Nature.
Curious about where to start? Here’s a quick rundown of some things you can make at home (and the savings you can quickly rack up):
- Make your own bubble bath
- Make your own Frappuccino (if you normally have two a week, you could save nearly $400 per year by doing this)
- Make your own laundry detergent (and save close to $100 a year)
- Make your own shampoo
- Make your own soap or lotion
What will you make this weekend?
Willing to take this challenge on? Or is their something that you already make yourself? If so, share your secrets in the comments!
