There’s a safer way to know what your children are eating other than sticking your finger or tongue in a jar you just opened: read the label. By reading the ingredient label, you’ll know if something had been hydrogenated or contains those indigestible trans fats. So, instead of serving up a processed canned full of things you can’t pronounce, opt for something from the organic produce aisle or make something at home from scratch. Not only will you know what’s in it, but you’ll be helping the environment as well since these items didn’t get processed by whirring machinery.
