If you go out to eat today, be sure to be nice to one of the 2.2 million people who call themselves a waiter or waitress. Make an extra effort to treat your server with enormous gratitude and heartfelt respect. Learn their name, smile, say ‘please’ and ‘thank you,’ tip well, and fill out a glowing comment card. Take a few extra minutes to go out of your way and show those serving you how much you appreciate it. This also works with others who help you during the day, like drivers, bellmen, barbers, mechanics, delivery folks, and cashiers.
