This Sunday (July 11) is World Population Day. If you were caught unaware, don’t fret. This is a day designated by the United Nations to focus on world population issues. Of course, numbers matter, which is why this year’s theme is “Everyone Counts,” designed to raise awareness about tracking data in order to properly fund projects and services around the world. But, focusing on the global population also highlights other key issues like infant mortality rates, gender equality, disease, and human rights. So, if you’re not yet paying attention to the population, use five minutes today to get started.
