A refugee is a person who flees to a foreign country or power to escape danger or persecution. And wherever they go, many times refugees end up making a contribution to their new home. Therefore, “Home” is the theme of this year’s World Refugee Day, celebrated by the UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR) and countless others around the US. In fact, they’re running a quick contest to see if you can guess how many refugees are in the world. Whether you guess or not, be sure to take time and recognize the plight and perseverance of refugees around the world.
